Last Thursday, I took a fascinating nine-question personality quiz, and I posted here my results and link to the quiz. I promised analysis and thoughts on the quiz and on my results. This I intend to fulfill one question at a time -- as questions and result sections are one-for-one.

This is the answer I gave. So, if the environment in which you instinctively picture yourself is a forest, you are psychologically hiding.

You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

A corn field as first pictured environment leads the test to the deduction that you have an open and sunny personality.

The quiz gives good broad-stroke answers to please its consumers. Could I afford to be a more open individual? Yes, I could, but this is true of most. I do not in the present "hide my true self". I do try to be a good listener, though. Parts of other answers fit me well, though, as well. From "b", I am intelligent and have intellectual potential. I like to be friendly to everybody. I try to be optimistic and engage others. From "c", I do "listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision".
My final say on Question #1, it is a good appeal because it subscribes to a fortune-teller syndrome. What does it means that I pick a forest over a corn field and hills? It means that I like walking in a forest more than corn fields or hills.

Well, it's not actually what comes into our mind first, but which of the three given answers are most immediately appealing. But like you said, sometimes the forest is just a forest. :P I said forest too. Forests are pretty. Corn fields aren't very interesting to me. They're what I see all day when we go on long car trips. (Maybe once you've shucked bushels of corn, the mystery is gone.) And the hills were tempting, but sounded also a bit dull. What can I do? Walk! And then? Climb!!

That's a good conclusion, and is the same one I reached. I KNEW when I answered that question that the analysis would have something to do with being closed off or blocked or hiding or whatever, but I chose it mainly because the forest is COOLEST, pretty much for the reasons TCA said above. I was like, No, quiz, it's not that I'm closed off, it's that in a forest I can run all over off the path and climb trees and stuff.
I understand and agree with your conclusions Aaron, but I also agree with the quiz. I was an "a" answer and have often philosophized about the different masks people wear in varied companies, myself being a prime example. Based on the descriptions, the answer I chose is the most accurate answer for me!
So far as the initial decision, I chose forests not merely for their adventurer enabling nature (and yet their over-arcing distribution of calm), but also because corn fields and rolling hills remind me of my home town, a place of evil.
I like this quiz a lot, as you so clearly pointed out in that note! :-P And I'm excited to argue with you on the remaining questions :) Keep it up!
